renovations ahead
Because everything needs to happen at one time, at least in my world, I’ve been busy working on a new design for indigirl.com. Why? Partly because most of the content, other than the blog, is outdated and needs to be removed, and partly because I’m a web developer masochist who needs to add just one more thing to my to do list.
This isn’t set in stone, yet. But it’s a start.

One of the main reasons I want to redesign is so I can host two blogs. One with all the content and blatherings I currently post, and one geared specifically towards photographs. The stuff that may or may not require a story. The stuff that may or may not fit in with the content I usually write.
Like this. From my visit to Vancouver last August.

And how is Clapotis, you ask? She is done. Almost. I just need to sew in about 8 ends.
My other obsession right now is a Picovoli without the picos, done in Diakeito Diarufran, color 214.
Have you worked with this yarn before? It’s different, and I seem to be loving it more every day. It’s almost like a little knitted tube of wool, with the elasticity of Calmer. And the colors shift quickly enough to result in one row stripes, at least for this pattern. When I get a little farther, I’ll try to get a photo of the work in progress. Right now, I’m about 3 inches into the body, so it’s going pretty fast. Not having sleeves to contend with sure helps!
If it works out the way I hope, It’ll be perfect to wear over a long sleeved tee, almost like a vest. And if not? It’ll be a lovely yarn shop model.

I love the new design! Esp. what I think I see in the top right corner, with the two typefaces. As someone who has a tendency to decide my site needs an overhaul pretty much every time I have a big deadline looming, I join your masochism club.

Diarufuran is possibly my all-time favorite yarn. It’s great for scarves because the yardage is really good and it’s so lightweight, but warm because of the construction. I’ve been toying with doing a sweater out of it. (It’s actually pretty similar to Artfibers Sherlock, fyi.)
