open open open

March 27th, 2006

Welcome to week 2 of Make One Yarn Studio. We opened officially last Wednesday. It was a great week… we had a chance to meet some really amazing fiber artists for the first time and see some old friends. The best part? It was a lot of work but 100% fun.

Today I came in early (9am instead of 11am) to get some work done on the crochet book. My final final deadline for the manuscript is this Friday. I’ve got most of the pieces together, including some really stellar design work from some talented crochet designers. (Way to go, gals!) Today and the rest of the week, I’m focusing on typing up patterns from my notes, finishing some swatches, and gathering everything together.

So. Life continues. Aside from my camera lens being entirely out of commission and my slightly achy back, I have nothing to complain about.

Oh yeah. I haven’t had time to knit. Or crochet. Much.

    Hi Amy,

I just wanted to say congratulations on the yarn store! It’s a fantasy of some sort for every knitter I think. I live in Kamloops right now, but if I am ever in Calgary I will definitely drop by. I first learned about you from the halter top pattern in Knitty (GREAT pattern), but have been lurking ever since. I avidly followed your journey on the Trans Siberian and would love to do the trip. Don’t think I can afford to go as soon as your May trip, but if you offer another one in the future I will keep my eye out.

That’s an impressive inventory list! I’ll have to come by the store this summer – I’m going RV’ing with the parents in eastern Canada. 🙂 Do some Downward Dog for the back.
