OCD Knitting

Cabled Progress

OK, I think I’m obsessed with this design. I haven’t really put it down in days. It’s the first thing my hands itch to get working on. Sometimes, when I don’t have time to knit, I pull it out of my knitting bag and pet it a little. I’ve taken to showing it to nearly everyone who comes in the store. And if, horror of horrors, those ladies should say they think the Shepherd’s Shades yarn is ugly, boring, or some other such nonsense, I get unreasonably insulted.

Usually drawn to the flashier skeins, the silks, the merinos, the handpaints, or the kettle-dyed, I’m finding such a warm fond love for this interesting twist on a basic wool. It’s packaged in hard-working center pull balls. It doesn’t have a dramatic label. It’s not expensive… this whole sweater may set me back $50 or so. And I’m so in love.

So don’t you DARE insult my yarn!

(At least not to my face!)

I have no time to come into the store so I must give my oppinion here, just from the pictures and your oppinion of the yarn: drool.

Having seen it when I was in… I wouldn’t dream of insulting it! It’s gorgeous. Your mini wrap sweater is having the same effect on me BTW, I can’t even look at another project until it’s done!

I love your custom security words!

That’s gorgeous yarn and a really nice looking pattern. I want that purple…. Mmm.

    Looks great!

This looks really beautiful — and I’m compelled by the construction technique. looks like perfect fall knitting. is it fall already?

  6. Sara Says:

I wouldn’t dream of insulting your yarn choice. I may find the texture a little on the rough side for my taste, but the colour and look are both so friggin’ gorgeous, and the price so reasonable I would probably buy the exact same yarn to do that exact same project myself. When your pattern comes out that is. :)

  7. Ande Says:

Amy, I love it! I’m a sucker for Fall and cables and rough spun wool. I think the colour is fab too!

  8. Connie Says:

really pretty! Is it the same sweater as the previous post? the color seems a little more violet and in the other photo, a little more red. sometimes a good, basic, working wool does the trick!

  9. Maz Says:

Lovely cables and the yarn colour is yummy…cables still make me nervous but I can see why you’re loving this so much!

  10. Kayla Says:

Beautiful, Amy. So, which color is it closer to? The purple in this post or the red in the last?
By the way, I’m totally pumped for the spinning class on Saturday! EEEEEEE!
