Weekend Update

September 19th, 2008

I feel like the most boring person on the face of the planet these days. I can’t seem to eek out enough time to knit more than 4 or 5 rounds of my Rosedale’s yoke. I head to bed at 9pm and read for a bit before falling asleep, or not falling asleep, as last night would have it. My list of things I need to do seems to get longer by the minute, and my amount of spare time in which to do them gets shorter.

It’s Friday. I’m taking my coffee break with my almost-cold Anniversary Blend from this morning’s walk in to work. I got off the train several stops early to have a brisk walk through the downtown core. It’s a nice way to feel a little more awake on sleepy mornings.

After work tonight, we’re taking the dogs to a “tricks” class at Superdogs. Every class we’ve had there has been a ton of fun, so I suspect this one will be pretty cute as well. Cooper and Jackson are pros at “paw”, so I think they’ll pick up some other fun tricks pretty easily.

I’m bringing a bunch of work home this weekend, both for my museum job and the store. One of the things on my to do list is a bunch of content formatting for a new website we’ll be launching later in the year. I think it’ll go really quickly at home tomorrow, with my music full-blast and no interruptions.

Of course, I also need to format a couple of patterns this weekend and get ready for heading out of town on the 26th.

I keep hoping that one of these months, life will be a little less hectic. I feel like I’m constantly rushing from place to place, from thought to thought. And it’s all good, and exciting, and fun… but I’m pretty worn out.

Oh great. Upgrading wordpress to 2.6.2 broke my blog. Lovely.

I can completely relate these days. I have to work the next 2 weekends, and any free time seems to fill up instantly with house stuff, pet stuff or catching up on sleep and excercise.

Balance is a hard thing to find…We should do like the mexicans and have siestas everyday- could definitely help the sleep thing! Although I imagine we would both spend siestas knitting!

I can completely relate with the busy feeling. I remember in high school I felt like I was busy and had very little time for any other major activities. Then I was in university with my undergrad and thought that I used to have it so easy, with so much time. And it was progressive, so in my final year I looked back to my first year and felt like I had so much more time then. Now in my masters and I look at my undergrad and feel so much more busy than I was then – like I had a lot of free time in my undergrad that I don’t have now. I’m starting my PhD and I think it will happen again – and after the PhD comes work, and kids, and… Well I think I’m ready for retirement!

I can’t remember what you are going out of town for on the 26th, but I hope you have fun.

I thought i was the only one feeling like time is going so fast. I wish there were more hours in the day. Is this a different look for your blog?
