Better.

December 8th, 2009

I had another blog post up for awhile. I’d written it last night after a kind of dreadful day with Dad at the hospital. He’s getting better, but he’s also really weak and tired and I don’t see the spark he’s always had before.

He’s doing better this morning. They have him sitting up in a wheelchair, which is great for helping him rebuild some strength. I don’t know that he’s going to be walking again, or at least not soon. So much time in bed is hard on his poor muscles.

It’s really great to be here for a couple of days and spend some time with him. I think it’s also quite excellent for mom to not be entirely alone in the house.

So, that’s the story. I’m mostly exhausted from stress and worry. I think yesterday was really hard to see him so weak, but today will be better. I think Mom doesn’t fully understand what a shock it is to see him only every three or six months and then see him like this.

It is really hard. I’m glad he’s looking better today and is sitting up. Very good sign! Seeing you has helped his spirits a lot, I’m sure. 🙂

Be good to yourself and be sure to take some time for yourself to rest also. Been there, done that…it’s not easy to say the least.

Still thinking about you and your family and hoping your dad continues improving!!

    HUGE HUGS

I don’t have anything that would probably make you feel better, except to say that, I’m so sorry this is happening, and that I hope my good thoughts and send you a bit of strength. We are all going to have to go through this sometime, and I hope knowing that you have lots of people out there who care about you helps you just a little bit to get through it.

Just wanting to send you some hugs – it is so hard I know.

Holding you, your dad and mum in the Light. whatever happens you are there giving him and your mum support and I’m sure they will be so grateful for that.

And I remember my dad describing his kitchen in detail to the social worker and it not sounding at all right – eventually I clicked that it was his mum’s kitchen from when he was about 8 or 9!
