Something New
Rarely, a design just… happens. Although I’m not yet finished, I can tell this is going to be one of them for me. The fit is just what I imagined. The idea? Working out beautifully. And it’s a joy to knit, which for me at least, is the key to the project.
I cast on for this project during the Opening Ceremonies, watching on Tivo last Saturday afternoon. Worked with EcoWool on 6.5mm needles, it’s knitting up so quickly. I had the top panels done by the end of the weekend, and most of the body finished by Tuesday night.
The concept is something I’ve been toying with in my head for a while now. Two panels for the bust piece, knit side to side, then sewn, and the body knit down in a slim longer length. So far, it fits like a glove, and I’m planning on layering this over leggings and a long sleeved tee.
My sketches show this as a sleeveless layering piece, with a chunky cowl neckline. But I reserve the right to change it as I continue knitting.
So… what do you think?

Can’t wait to see the finished product. Plus it helps that it’s in a colour I can’t seem to get away from – cast off a project in something similar yesterday!

I LOVE IT! Hope you will size it up to 50″. It would be gorgeous on my sister and (clearly) she’s busty.
