Making Elsewhere Work forSpring/Summer

June 23rd, 2010

I love how Ravelry lets me see what knitters do with my patterns. I check in from time to time to see recently finished projects, as well as those just started. And occasionally, I find myself in awe at the kinds of modifications that creative knitters have worked on my designs.

I was absolutely blown away by Joji‘s Elsewhere. The change she made was quite simple; just work 8 rounds of garter on the sleeves and cast off. But what struck me is how fabulous this is as a light layer for Spring or Summer.

This is probably the thing I like best about being a designer; the aspect of creativity that everyone stamps on top of one of my designs. Whether it’s yarn choice, tailoring, or more major alterations, it’s the transformative step of taking something that was mine and making it entirely yours.

So, great work Joji! Thank you for sharing these photos! I can’t wait to see what you do next!
